Does anyone know whether the update was annouced through the Eve client? And if so when?
I know this thread was created yesterday around 15:00 but I was on Eve last night around 9:00 pm Eve time and i did not notice any details on the login screen about this patch being deployed.

A news item was released yesterday at 14.19 GMT.
It should have been on the main window rather than on the news (even if it is on side). Not everyone reads the news as it is updated daily with role playing elements of the game that some people aren't interested in (me being one of them). It was a bit short notice and should have at least been in the main window

Don't worry, though, we'll get to laugh next year when they decide to have a 25-hour dt on Labour Day (may 1st), and they ***** about how the european community has been wronged.
I am sure if CCP did it on a European holiday the Euro's would complain as well. But CCP would never do anything to upset them. When I first started playing EvE in 2003 all the Aurora events happened while Americans were still at work/school. I just wish CCP would keep its American playerbase in mind. I read the patch notes and there is nothing there that could not wait until Monday.
What are you talking about?? They take the servers down everyday 11:00-12:00PM GMT and do updates (like this one) around this time also. This means that it does affect most Euro users. We are closer to this time zone than the US.
I am in the UK and this means that Eastern time US is 5 hours behind. This means at 11:00 (when updates are done) it is 6:00 AM Eastern US time. The West coast is even earlier (8 hours)! So again this would be 3:00 AM. If anyone is getting preferential treatment it is you US guys. The DT and updates are done when most Americans are asleep.
